Why is CPL better than any other institute?

What brings students here despite being bombarded by the biggies competing in the same field? "The kind of attention every student enjoys here is unmatched", says Ankur from NM College, who's currently studying at CPL. "Parag sir knows every single student personally. You can approach him any time, and he willingly takes on the role of a mentor, and a very able one at that", adds Pooja, another CPL student.

The personal touch is not the only thing that differentiates CPL from the others in the race. "I decided to join CPL for the simple reason that here we're taught concepts from scratch. Other classes assume students are already done with their basics and rush through this crucial part. There's no such assumption here, thus creating a very strong base right from the beginning", says Alpesh, who will be appearing for CAT 2009. "It's good to have someone keep a regular check on our progress. The teaching methods are pretty effective. Besides, through regular tests and feedback sessions, each student's progress is monitored", says Hardik, who has enrolled at CPL for the CAT 2009 batch.

Apart from the general feedback sessions, students are also taken through a host of interesting activities and events. Recently, about 200 students from CPL attended a 2 day outdoor training camp at Sajjan resort. Lessons drawn from rappelling, trekking and a night treasure hunt in a jungle, were correlated to CAT. This was yet another attempt to make learning more holistic and enjoyable. It's refreshing to find a CAT coaching class
that goes beyond what it's expected to do, and makes the process enjoyable for its students.

So, here are a few things that make CPL stand apart from other institutes.

1. Excellent Faculty

2. Unique Pedagogy

3. Personalized Attention

4. Different Types of Batch Formation

5. Varied Test Series Experience

6. Excellent Results

Excellent Faculty

CPL has one of the best faculty from industry teaching its students. These include 10 full-time faculty members and about another 10 faculty members who work part-time. These faculty members have years of experience in teaching for CAT,CET,GRE,GMATand Personality Development. Together they have taught more than 50,000 students with the best institutes.

Unique Pedagogy

CPL has a unique teaching methodology in the industry that combines the benefits of concept building, problem solving and testing.

Module: Every subject is divided into different modules depending on the different topics in that subject to make learning more effective and comprehensive for the students.

Chapter: Every module in turn is divided into different chapters depending on the different concepts that need to be covered in that chapter. For instance, the Number System chapter is divided into Classification of numbers, Divisibility of numbers etc.

Concept Book: Every module has a concept book that is divided into different chapters. A student fills up the concept book for a particular chapter in class when the faculty is teaching that concept. Every lecture roughly comprises of one chapter. A faculty ensures that every concept is taught right from the basics and no assumptions are made on the prior knowledge of students

Problem Book: After the concepts of a particular chapter is taught, a student is made to solve about 40-50 Q's on that chapter from the problem book. Only after every problem is discussed at length in class with associated short-cuts and alternate methods, do we proceed to teach concepts of the next chapter.

Chapter Test: Chapter tests are conducted at the end of every one or two chapters. These tests are based on the last few chapters completed, that a student takes under timed settings. This test is discussed in class in great detail along with test taking strategies.

Concept Test: A concept test is conducted at the end of every module. This is a subjective test that tests the conceptual clarity of a student on all the concepts taught in class till that point of time (across all the modules).

Comprehensive Test: All students who clear the concept test are eligible to take the comprehensive test. This test, conducted at the end of every module, is an objective test that has problems on all the concepts taught in class till that point of time (across all the modules). This test is also discussed in class with relevant strategies for taking the test.

PracCAT: These are the CPL version of simulated full-length tests. These are conducted once in a month until the students start with their test series. A detailed personalised report card is given to every student that gives his performance in the PracCAT not only section wise but also chapter-wise.

Test Series: These are again the full length tests that a CPL student gets to benchmark him against students nationwide. These are held once in a week and begin a few months before your actual exam.

Revisers: These are the power-packed workshops held a few months before the actual exam. The workshops are aimed at revising the concepts learnt in the class, with emphasis on regularly asked concepts and question-types.

Personalized Attention

CPL stands for 'Chitale's Personalised Learning Centre', and true to its name, we ensure that every student gets 'Personalised' training. Our batch strength does not exceed 25 students ensuring that a faculty knows every student personally. A student, who is normally very apprehensive of asking doubts in a big class, freely interacts with faculty in a CPL class. This ensures that the pace of the class is dictated by the slowest member of the class and hence everyone goes home satisfied. Additionally, a personalised setting helps faculty members to track every student's preparation and performance so that he can effectively mentor the student accordingly.

Different Types of Batch Formation
At CPL we understand the different requirements of students of various backgrounds. We take care of this at the stage of batch formation itself. For example, we have separate batches for engineers and non-engineers. We ensure that a student from non-engineering background is not given admission to an engineering batch and vice-versa, unless the student insists on the same. This also ensures that certain critical breaks for the batch can be planned for university/college exams of the student. Also to cater to the specific requirements of working students, we have special batches arranged on weekends.(see details of the running and upcoming batches at the following link)

Varied Test Series Experience

The CPL students get exposure to the best test-series that are available in the market. This ensures that a student is exposed not only to different types of questions, but also gets to benchmark himself against competition across India.

Outbound Training

CPL is perhaps the only MBA training institute in the training that provides a two-day outbound training program to its students. Structured on the principles of 'Experiential Learning', this training program teaches the students different softer aspects of the entrance exam though some intelligently designed management games.
